About the Role
The Van Driver is to transport participants of On Our Own of Howard County, Inc., Wellness and Recovery Center (WRC) / Recovery Community Center (RRC) to and from site of center as well as dedicated events and activities, including socialization activities in and around Howard County. Reports communication with other staff members and Executive Director on staff passenger with van driver during transport, route, meeting place, and emergency plan is set. Ensuring proper vehicle maintenance, observing safety and traffic rules, and maintaining order among passengers while they are on the van. Van driver is responsible for keeping to a schedule and ensuring passenger safety during transit. Other responsibilities include monitoring and reporting the following: fuel usage, mileage, documenting passenger utilization, and enforcing conduct and safety rules. Maintaining a clean vehicle (internal and external) and participating in routine cleaning and maintenance of vehicle. Transporting items to members/participants homes that are not able to attend in-person and assisting with supplies to and from WRC / RCC. Reporting delays, accidents, and emergencies.
